Yassaman Emami
Children`s Book Author & Illustrator
Yassaman Emami is a children`s book author and illustrator born in 1991 in Isfahan, Iran, and currently based in London, UK. She holds a BA in Graphic Design from Isfahan Art University, an MA in Illustration from University of Tehran and a second MA in Children's Literature: Children's Book Illustration from Goldsmiths, University of London.
Yassaman was selected as "10 Graduates to watch" by AOI in 2026. She was also selected as Highly Commended Illustrator by Plymouth Illustration Awards and shortlisted by V&A Illustration Awards in 2026.
Yassaman loves writing stories about children who make bold decisions, always told with humor and a sense of fun. She also enjoys drawing children and animals, especially using oil pastels and colored pencils. In addition, Yassaman is interested in creating picturebooks for adults, where she reflects her serious and challenging side through her stories and illustrations.
Since 2020, Yassaman has taught drawing, illustration and painting in both Iran and the UK mostly to adults.
